BILL CROOK AWARD
Named in memory of a man who left a great legacy of public service, the Bill Crook Award honors an individual who, by his own actions or as a representative of a business or organization, has contributed to the success of the Food Bank.

This year’s recipient is Chuck Etheridge, professor of Technical and Professional Writing at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. His family includes his wife, Diana Naranjo, and sons Lars, Parker, and Benjamin. In addition to his work with grant writing, he is the author of the novel Border Canto. Chuck is proud to be part of the Technical and Professional Writing program at TAMUCC. Professor Etheridge, through his curriculum, is committed to teaching his students the ethic of social service. He stresses the benefits of helping the community, while at the same time providing valuable experience for his students through hands-on grant writing projects. Since 2005, he and his students have written successful grant applications on behalf of the Food Bank of Corpus Christi totaling $253,000.
